GIK PRP SERUM COLLAGEN REPAIR MOIST FACIAL MASK REVIEW

One of the facialists in China told me my skin was dry, which is why I have so many blackheads, sebaceous filaments, and noticeable pores. She gave me the equivalent of a cold cream to deep cleanse my face once a week, which I had to get rid of because my luggage was too heavy for domestic flights. I didn't feel too bad getting rid of it because I didn't find it very helpful for cleansing my skin, and I wasn't a fan of the microbeads in it: they weren't the scrubbing kind, but the bursting ones, and they were very colorful. The last nail in the coffin was that the product was heavily fragranced.

In addition to this cold cream, she told me to use a clay mask and to hydrate with some sort of sheet mask, whether it's a full face one or a toner pad, right after to hydrate my skin. My mother loves to shop on Taobao and WeChat stores, so she got some face masks, which we used with abandon in hopes of reducing her luggage burden. Yeah, those sheet masks are sooooo heavy...

The sheet masks helped hydrate my skin. Despite being in humid areas of China for most of my trip, my skin felt dehydrated. (I used a hydrating toner, Ongredients Skin Barrier Calming Lotion, and Vanicream throughout the trip, so my skin shouldn't be dry.) Sheet masks were also a nice way to unwind after walking over 20,000 steps in the blistering sun with hundreds of tourists squeezing against you and queuing for hours.

Once I got back to New York, the weather was chillier than across the world, and the products in my routine weren't hydrating enough, so I got some sheet masks to supplement. I purchased GIK PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Serum Collagen Repair Moist Facial Mask AND Centella bundle because it cost less than $11 for 42 sheet masks on Yami! (Sidenote: I've been purchasing some skincare products on Yami to avoid tariffs, and it has almost next-day shipping, so that's another retailer option.)

This is a five-minute mask that's advertised to revitalize fatigued, stressed, or dull skin. The mask will deliver deeply intense hydration, leaving your skin plump, luminous, and dewy without a greasy feel. They claim it's a gentle and non-irritating product suitable for all skin types. Unfortunately, it has fragrance, so it may potentially be irritating for some people.

Despite PRP in the name, the product doesn't actually contain blood platelets. It uses hydrating ingredients to mimic the effects of a PRP facial, such as Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Arginine, Squalane, and Ceramides. Here is the InciDecoder link for this product to see the full list of ingredients and what they do.

Finally, the review:

When I opened the packaging, I was alarmed by how gelatinous it was. Is this snail mucin?! Are there snails in here actively ******* and secreting mucus? That's how viscous it was.

After removing the mask, the serum ampoule felt like it was just sitting on my skin, so I had to spread the excess to help my skin absorb better. If you're using this mask after a shower, perhaps skip the lotion and use the mask to moisturize your body before you discard it.

After using it, I don't think it's as great as my holy grail (so far), PDC Wafood Made Sake Lees Face Pack, which leaves my face so luminous and beautiful. I look like the moon, in the best way. My skin is more hydrated than when I don't use the PRP mask, but it's not plump and luminous as when I use Ms. PDC.

Full transparency, I sometimes leave the masks on too long—love me some bed-rotting and doom-scrolling. Also, the mask is sopping wet if I remove it too soon, which feels like a waste. Yeah, it's a cheap bundle deal, but I'm getting the most out of my dollar in this economy!

Lastly, when I peel it off, it's not COMPLETELY dry; it's still a little damp. My skin feels slightly dry, as if the product contained alcohol.

When I try it for the recommended 5 minutes, so naysayers can't say I'm using it wrong, I still have the tightness after I pat in the serum. Where is the glow? I'm dewy because I put lotion on top of my tight-feeling skin post-mask. They need to change the name to Botox mask because I can't move my face without fighting some tightness.

When I try it for the usual recommended 15 minutes for sheet masks, there isn't a dramatic difference. My skin is more hydrated than without, but there's still a tightness after patting in the excess. No dewy glow. No luminosity. I experienced some redness on my cheek and a prickly irritation around my eyes near the temples this time around.

It's okay on a budget, but I wouldn't repurchase or recommend.
