NEW/NICHE BRANDS WISHLIST AND DEEPDIVE V

These brands are new to me, but perhaps not to you. I'm still learning about different brands and fragrances. 

Notes in this post, for the most part, are separated into top, heart, or base. Each category will be separated by periods; notes within each category will be separated by commas. Sometimes brands list notes without dividing them into top, heart, or base. I might explain my choices or only place an asterisk following what I find exciting. 

The ongoing trend with these posts is my affinity for citrus, ylang-ylang, tea, peach, chocolate/cacao, and mint/certain herbs. I am intrigued by Oud because I rarely try it. Keep this in mind when there are no explanations.

I sometimes purchase these samples, depending on availability and my whims. When looking at these compilations during purchasing, I often notice dislike for my selection. Why did I pick that? 

FRANCESCA BIANCHI: Emotional, sensual, intimate perfumes. Created in Amsterdam by Francesca Bianchi, a perfumer of Italian origin, using the best raw materials.

1. LUXE CALME VOLUPTE: bitter orange, green tangerine, galbanum, hyacinth, tropical fruits, ylang-ylang, iris, benzoin, sandalwood, vetiver, opoponax.
• This is the most approachable composition. It's citrus with familiar florals and some notes that test me. 
2. STICKY FINGERS: Coriander, cinnamon, iris butter, patchouli, sandalwood, heliotrope, musk, castoreum, leather, tobacco, tonka bean.
• I've never tried castoreum (Bianchi is known for her animalic musky scents,) and I typically steer clear of tobacco, but this is a well-known fragrance from the brand so I have to try it.
3. ETRUSCAN WATER: Bergamot, Green Tangerine, Grapefruit, Petitgrain, Basil, Carvi, Immortelle, Jasmin, Iris root, Musk, Ambergris, Labdanum, Vetiver, Oakmoss

GRITTI: Gritti Venetia was born as Luca Gritti’s homage to his family’s history and its deep, longstanding connection with Italian perfumery. A descendant of a noble Venetian dynasty, Gritti pays tribute to his ancestor, the politician and merchant Alvise Gritti, and creates new rules for the world of niche fragrances.

TEST RESULTS: for such a short and simple quiz, I wasn't expecting much, but I am happy with the results. I wish they had the option to select both unisex and feminine. I took the test twice and got similar results both times (2-5.) 

1. ANIMA (PRIVÉ): Pineapple, Bergamot, Lime. Jasmine, Iris, Rose. Ambergris, Cedarwood, Sandalwood.
• I'm not sure that I want to smell like pineapple all the time.
2. BEYOND THE WALL (IVY): Ginger Powder, Violet, Artemisia*. Iris, Black Tea*, Milky Accord*. Sandalwood, Cardamom, White Musk.
• Interested. Sounds like a smokey milk tea with unconventional flavors.
3. FENICE (PRIVÉ): Passionfruit, Peach, Orange Blossom. Lily, Magnolia, Powder. Amber, Woods, Musk.
• Sounds delish!
4. OUD REALE (PRIVÉ): Ginger, Green lemon, Gurjun balsam. Pink pepper, Jasmine, Vetiver. Oud, Ambergris, Musk
• Down to try simply for the Oud and to see how citrus/fresh notes pair with the Oud.
5. POMELO SORRENTO (I TURCHESI): Grapefruit, Green Notes, Mint. White flowers, Green tea, Rose. Amber, Vetiver, Iris.
• Some mixed emotions about this fragrance. Love the mint and green tea notes, but the rest could be more exciting. 
6. TUTÙ BLANC (WHITE): Pink grapefruit, Blackcurrant, Coconut, Apple. Jasmine, Rose, Heliotrope. Raspberry, Vanilla, Amber, Musk.

BLACK COLLECTION: this collection reflects the creative path of Luca Gritti and his particular style of work with different perfume genres. What ties the collection is inner dynamism and masterful use of spicy notes – one of the perfumer’s favorite techniques linked with his family’s history.

1. REBELLION: Mint, Bergamot, Lemon zest. Fruity notes, Cypress, Shiso*. Patchouli, Oakmoss, Grey amber

WHITE COLLECTION: in this collection, Luca Gritti turns to fruity, floral, and powdery notes, experimenting with them and creating new, unexpected combinations.

1. GOSSIP NIGHT: Mango blossom*, Litchi*, Heliotrope. White peach*, Cream, Caramel. Madagascar Vanilla, White Musk, Cashmeran. 
2. CHANTILLY: Melon*, Strawberry, Bergamot. Apple, Coconut, Blackcurrant flower. Vanilla, Powder, Musk.

GRITTI PRIVÉ: inspired by Italian nobility's palaces, the perfumer created unique twists of two distinctive accords to fuse them together, adding singular nuances and notes necessary for a perfect balance.

1. RIALTO: Bergamot, Saffron*, Mango*. Taïf rose*, Iris, Tropical fruits. Amber, Oud, White musk.
• WOAH, new rose! 

CHOIX: collaboration between Luca Gritti and Aida, the princess of Oman, conveys the emotions captured in The Middle East and embodies the modern oriental spirit seen through the prism of the European perfumer.

1. MATIN D’ÉTÉ: Bergamot, Kumquat, Lemon zest. Passionfruit, Physalis*, Hibiscus. Vanilla, Cedarwood, White musk.
2. MON AMI: Green accord, Lemon blossom, Monoi*. Fig, Coconut, Sea breeze. Tonka beans, Musk, Sandalwood.
