I TRIED SILICONE WRINKLE PATCHES

I have over-prominent corrugator muscles—the muscles at the start of your brows that help you frown. I already have serious RBF and don't look very kind, so my overworked corrugator muscles are a new insecurity I'm working on. It looks like two large, swollen mosquito bites between my brows. There appears to be a shelf on my forehead. You get the picture.

So far, I don't have any deep frown lines, but with my poor personality and habits, I won't be surprised if the space between my brows starts sprouting lines. I furrow my brows in my sleep, which is not ideal, so the patch helps fight an unconscious habit.

While searching for the name of the muscle, I came across this website with exercises to relax the muscles. It sounds counterintuitive to work out the muscles to get them to relax and be less prominent because I associate it with building and developing.

In addition to the occasional face workouts, I also use my face roller to work out the tension. There must have been A LOT of strain because it was painful when I massaged along my eyebrow arches.

The silicone forehead patch works from qualitative observation. Background: I use them at least three to four times a week. I used them for three nights and took a break because of acne.

The two muscles appeared less swollen, and I woke up with less tension in my brow area. I also wake up with a lack of mobility in my forehead, but not in an alarming way! The mask retains one position through the night, and removing the restriction feels odd. Your face has to get used to being able to move unhindered.

However, I saw tiny bumps start to form on my forehead and between my brows. After every use, I cleaned the mask and the plastic sheet it came with, and I still got these bumps. I love the results, but I hate that it's comedogenic. Maybe it's just the one I bought?

The mask shape—particularly the ends and the unibrow—didn't work with my face shape. These fiddly bits don't stay down, and they get caught in my hair, despite my efforts to brush away obstacles. It's too sticky on my hair but not enough on the places that matter.

I've seen brands advertise their masks can be used up to 20 times, but that won't happen for me. I've used it around 10 times, and the unibrow area, even after washing, is starting to look like a used hydrocolloid patch. Ew.
