GLOSSIER YOU

Pink Pepper, Ambroxan, Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Iris

I received a free sample via SoPost (I got a lot of IG beauty ads for samples.) This HAS NOT influenced my review whatsoever.

I've always wanted to try this perfume because of how it's marketed: "melts into your skin and smells a bit different on everyone." It's you, but better. Your unique scent.

When I opened the little box the sample came in, it reminded me of Chloe EDP / Chloe Love Story (did not spray it yet, just from opening the box.)

Surprisingly, there aren't any notes of peony or rose because I detect a floral musk. The website says pink pepper is the first note, and it's bright, sparkling, spicy, and leaves a good first impression. I detect the slight spiciness/pepperiness and agree that it's bright and inviting.

Next should be the woodsy and slightly sweet ambrette with warm and ambery ambrox. Then creamy and fresh iris.

I typically associate powderiness with iris, which I'm not getting. It is musky, slightly sweet, woody, and warm.

My sister also tried this fragrance to test if it smells like Chloe to everyone. She concurs that it does. Some people wrote on Fragrantica that it doesn't smell good on them, but it smells fine on both of us.

My sister and I have really different tastes in perfumes. She likes Maison Margiela's Jazz Club and Le Labo Vetiver 46; I don't. However, we both like this perfume.

I sprayed this around 10 at night, slept, did some homework, and the scent still lingers around 3 pm the next day. It has decent longevity.

This perfume is for people who do not want to drop a hefty sum for perfume but still want to smell good/designer. It's also for people who want a simple, beautiful, and inoffensive everyday perfume that people will compliment. This is a safe choice if you can't decide what perfume to wear. In theory, you can wear it year-round, but I think it's best suited for spring/summer. It's advertised as unisex, but I think it leans more feminine.

It's not a standout, complex, or unique perfume, so if that's something you're looking for, skip this.

Since it has such a broad appeal, many people will probably also wear this, so also keep that in mind if popularity is a factor when you purchase perfumes.

I would purchase a bottle, but I will not actually buy one any time soon. I will use the sample sparingly, like my Ylang 49 sampler.
